New Year Intension setting workshop
January 8th, 7-9pm
As we find ourselves at the beginning of a New Year, how is setting an intention different from setting goals and resolutions? The Sanskrit word ‘Sankalpa’ is where the yogic idea of ‘intention’ is derived, and when broken down is defined by: ‘Kalpa’ which can translate as ‘vow’, and ‘San’ which refers to a connection with our highest truth. The tradition of Yoga teaches that we are already perfectly whole and complete, and that we have everything we will ever need within ourselves, it is a process of Self-realisation. Traditional goal-setting and resolutions usually come from a place of feeling lacking , and then dreaming up how wonderful our lives would be if we just: lost those few extra kilos, got that next pay rise, or found our ‘perfect’ partner. Yogic intentions, however come from a place of deep listening, realizing our heart’s deepest longing rather than focussing on egoic desires, and connecting with our truth, our highest self. This two-hour workshop will focus on releasing what from 2024 no longer serves you and setting intentions for the upcoming year of 2025. This is a personal practice I have done for the last 6 years, I find it really helpful to reflect back on the year, looking at what worked and what didn’t, and taking the learnings and moving them forward into the next year. The workshop will also be a time for you to think about the year ahead and to set intentions, inviting what you want to achieve into your world! The practice will be from 7-9pm on Wednesday, January 8th. This workshop will include guided meditation and breathwork, journaling and a gentle embodied flow to clear out the previous year and release stuck energy. We will end our practice together using Yoga Nidra to set our Sankalpa (our resolve, our hearts longing) and clear our negative Samskaras (our old habits) starting our New Year with focus and positive energy! I will provide tea and homemade treats for after. What to bring: Yoga mat Journal & pen Mug for tea * This class is open to all levels of yoga (please inform me in advance if you are pregnant)

“I’m vegan and also have intolerances and Niamh somehow made absolutely delicious food that accommodated everybody’s dietary needs. There was also plenty of food which meant we were always really well fed! "
"The retreat was absolutely magical- the yoga space and living spaces were so homely and well equipped, the scheduling of the weekend ran so smoothly and Niamh really thought through the flow of the experience for all involved. The Yoga and meditation/journaling/ reflective parts of the retreat were accessible, inclusive and left me feeling restored and the entire weekend was well balanced. I went along solo never having met anyone else in the group and everyone was so friendly and welcoming, I got to really connect with a new group of like minded women- I can't wait for the next retreat!"
“I had never done yoga Nidra before but I found it really interesting and extremely restful! I struggle with finding the time for meditation in my everyday life but since the retreat, I’ve been doing 15min of meditation every morning and am really noticing a difference in my energy which has been great! ”
